Shannon Kahn founded SMK Consulting to “Create Profit and Prosperity for Staffing Firms.” With over three decades of staffing industry experience, Shannon has a history of leading teams that deliver exceptional results with a focus on driving sales, service excellence, effective recruitment, and leadership development. Working for both large public companies and niche firms, she held many leadership roles throughout her career including Vice President, National Accounts, and SVP of Specialty Services, while developing industry expertise in skilled trades, transportation, hospitality, and manufacturing. More recently, as Chief Sales Officer with a mid-size staffing firm, she built a sales organization from the ground up – Including designing a sales structure, CRM implementation, target segmentation, and aligning incentive compensation to reinforce behaviors that delivered increases in revenue and EBIDTA.
Shannon is adept at creative problem-solving and working collaboratively with key stakeholders. When facing complex-difficult-to-solve business challenges, she is energized by dissecting business issues as if they are story problems, gathering the facts, looking at all possible outcomes, tapping into key resources, and arriving at optimal outcomes to achieve sustainable growth. She also brings diplomacy and steady confidence to her interactions with her colleagues and clients.
At SMK Consulting, Shannon channels her passion for helping others, providing Sales Advisory services on a Fractional basis, and has developed P.R.E.P., a propriety account planning program to build fences around existing customers while moving staffing firms from ‘Periphery’ positions with their client to ‘Contributors’ to their client’s overall strategic success. Creating simple, repeatable, impactful solutions is a hallmark of Shannon’s consulting practice.
