Tom Kosnik on Staffing Leadership, Culture & Financial Growth

Tom Kosnik has spent more than 30 years coaching executives across the staffing industry. In 1995, he founded the Presidents’ RoundTable, a peer-to-peer leadership forum where C-suite executives come together to tackle complex business challenges and share practical solutions.

In this conversation with Chris Everett, Tom shares the story of two $100 million staffing companies led by two very different CFOs—and what happened to each business two years later.

They explore how past success can sometimes become an obstacle to future growth, the warning signs Tom looks for when a company’s culture begins to break down, and why the belief that “revenue solves all ills” can lead businesses in the wrong direction. Tom also discusses one of the most common financial planning mistakes he encounters as staffing firms grow beyond the capabilities of their bookkeeper and require more sophisticated financial management.
